It is with great pleasure to inform you that we have finalized the PDA Community Based Program entitled “Happy Smiles for a Healthy Family Life” together with Lamoiyan Corporation, makers of Hapee toothpastes. The relationship of oral and general health has been conclusively proven, in which we believe that through a 6-month Oral Health Education program, which will feature proper tooth brushing techniques in particular, we may be able to help families understand the importance of healthy teeth & gums in the elimination of dental diseases which will contribute to the overall health of the body.

Five Area kick-off events have been planned to jumpstart the project and these are: NCR and Affiliate Societies on August 24, 2008 (Host Chapter: Paranaque Dental Chapter), Luzon- South on August 31, 2008 ( Host Chapter: Cavite Dental Society), Luzon-North on September 13, 2008 (Host Chapter: KADEBU), Visayas on October 3, 2008 (Host Chapter: Leyte Dental Society) and in Mindanao (Host Chapter: Metro Gensan Dental Chapter).

Centennial Marker Unveiled

PDA was awarded the Centennial marker by the National Historic Commission, Chaired by Mr. Ambeth Ocampo, who is also a well-respected historian and newspaper columnist. The unveiling of the Centennial marker happened last September 2, 2008 at the PDA office building and was witnessed by the PDA Officers, Chapters and Affiliates Presidents.

This was the result of a laborious exchange of historical files related to the practice of Dentistry in the country.
